Dear Friends,
I joined a group, Be One, that has been going up to the Tohoku area of Japan since one week after the Earthquake/Tsunami/ Nuclear disaster. Japan Mission allowed me to take a car and drive a group up there to volunteer any way possible for a few days during Golden Week. Here are a few photos and I will share more details with you soon!

Due to the threat of radiation in the air and on the ground we were told to wear masks. I also wore eye protection, and 3 pairs of gloves while removing garbage for safety and protection. There were many rusty nails in the wood that we found.

Just some of the garbage. We also had a pile for wood, plastic, and metal.
It took us 3 days to clean this playground with 30 volunteers

After we cleaned the playground we had a neighborhood BBQ, which was delicious and afterwards we hung out with the local people and got to know them.

Our faithful friend Yuu-chan came to see us everyday and we worked together to clean this park where she and her friends can now play.
Looks like you're gonna be busy for awhile. I'm glad you are ok. I wish you all the best and we continue to pray for everyine there!!
